Thistle 1

A bunch of thistles found wild in Pune, and by many parts of the world. The ant is like this artist’s signature, a reminder about the equal value of all – a tiny insect may lack size, but not bite. These little wildflowers tend to be ignored as they just grow anywhere, including roadsides, in parks, open spaces, cracks and crevices. Also called silymarin or ironweed, they are used in ayurveda for their medicinal value.
